Diplomat Restaurant

The best thing about the Diplomat is that it's open 24 hours, which means AWESOME BREAKFAST anytime, anywhere. Diplomat breakfast is FANTASTIC, and is my favourite breakfast in town. The Chinese food, however, is not so awesome. It's pretty bland, and I got some majorly undercooked chicken wings there once. Just stick to the AWESOME BREAKFAST, and other basics, like the hot turkey sandwich (mmm!) and you'll be fine. Yes. The sandwiches and burgers are really good, too.

As I said, just avoid the Chinese food. Yuck. If you want Chinese food, go to Misu, or the Mandarin Palace. Diplomat is for people who want breakfast in the middle of the night. Like me.

It's mall food, for twice the price. And don't order the sweet and sour pineapple chicken it's literally chicken balls swimming in that red sauce, with 3 pineapple tidbits (straight from the can to your plate). The atmosphere also sucked, and the service was poor. I don't know why people rave about this place. Seriously. Even after the bars closed I wouldn't go here - I'd just eat a poutine from that greasy tin winabago you'd be twice as satisfied for half the money. Seriously, don't go here, it's aweful. If you want to pay those kinds of prices, go to Bruno's at the Delta Hotel, right next door. Like I said, the Diplomat is decent food for $6 at the mall food court, but not at $11 (and that's for their 1/2 plates). And they never brought my boyfriend his milk! And once more, the atmosphere was the pits!!

Though the wait was long(which is understandable when a place is busy) the food was good.

Food was poor, typical pseudo chinese food with everything depending on lashings of sweet and sour sauce to make it taste of something. The ribs were pretty good though. Service was bad, with the meals coming out of the kitchen in dribs and drabs so we eventually all got served but didnt really have the chance to eat together..... Given that was the main reason we were there it was a total failure and I wouldnt recommend it for an evening meal to anyone.

We did have a great breakfast here though, hence the second trip for dinnner.

Food is amazing. Service is absolutley the worst. Staff and ownership should take some customer service classes. I will never bring another friend or business associate to this place again. If you plan to eat there...order out and let someone else order the food for you. This way to will not have to deal with the poor service.

The food here is good and the service is quite reasonable. This restaurant can be quite busy at times, but the staff are accomodating and usually professional. The Diplomat distributes glossy take out menus at the door and has a web site.
This is more than just a Chinese take out, it's a well rounded restaurant with good service, good atmosphere and good food.

Recommended.

It's a little expensive, but the food there is really good. Sometimes the wait is long, but once you sit down it is well worth the wait. Try it, it's awesome!

this restaurant has the worst phone service I have ever encountered. I called on tuesday sept 6th at 425pm and the lady who answered the phone was quite rude and unhelpful. Due to this event myslf and the party of 7 that was at my home for dinner chose to order from another restaurant. In 9 mins on the phone I was put on hold without asking twice and then told to go online to look up what I want. I rate the service very poor yet the food and quality form previous experience good and fair. We will not recomend this restaurant to relatives or friends in the future all because of this experience. Tell the lady who answered the phone she should be more polite to customers or your business will (by word of mouth only) deteriorate.
